notforc - i hold AFD and we have discovered some Type IIa diamonds. My understanding from that is they make up 2% of diamonds so are rare and they are extremely prized for their clarity and beauty so command an excellent price. However, they require extra care in extracting them as they have a nasty tendency to fragment. If you google you will find plenty on the subject.
