We were told, before they left, that they would be returning today. They were expected to return via Heathrow this morning .(On a Lufthansa flight.) My wife could well have lost her best friend. At this time I will not post names because it is possible that they have decided to visit relations on route from the airport. In the past my wife has always received a call from "her sister" very soon after the family arrived. At this point a UK engineer, his Javanese wife and son are 'missing' as far as friends are concerned. I hope we are worrying uneccessarily and that they are enjoying tea somewhere in England.
What is certain is that a very small number of policemen have been sent to the Tsunami area to identify UK nationals and that Embassy staff are refusing to provide funds to help grief stricken relatives bring bodies home .
