Did you know that the coasts around the North Sea were hit by a Tsunami about 7k years ago. It could happen again and was caused by a massive seafloor landslip offshore North West Norway (Storegga Slide event). I believe some studies have been a carried out due to concerns that increased seismic activity in the North Sea (cause by oil extraction) could trigger such an event again as sufficient seafloor sediments have had time to build up since the last slip.
This website explains some aspects.
The indian Ocean disaster is far worse than has already been reported, I'm paticularly concerned (I visited this area quite a while back) for the fishing villages along the Sumatra Coast and the Nias group of Islands, we have not yet heared anything yet about the impact along this coast, which has a large population.
