Sorry assagai -PMG- just for your interest I always start by holding £10k in each and top up to a total of £20k when i feel things are going the right way. Just done a quick assessment for last year and total profit - before tax - was £62k so I must have made some mistakes as most of this was in my European and UK unit trust long term investments. I hold a balanced long term unit trust and investment trust portfolio mainly in ISAS/PEPs only hold maximum of 25% of the portfolio in 10 riskier shares for max CGT utilisation for self and wife( kids etc). I am unable to track more than 10 ( I think its my age) but often find I return to old favourites eg Corus CS. Cyprotex CRX and Ashtead AHT when I need a little inspiration.
Wish you all well for this new year. Do not risk what you cannot afford to lose.
