Afternoon All,
I thought I ought to clarify my words months ago regarding my research into competing TPMS and torque sensors. I was at that stage looking at current technologies that might be ripe at that time and though I would have added a caveat I thought it worth saying it again in case enthusiasm drove it from your memory banks. : )

I have had three positive receptions when mentioning TRT over the holiday so it bought it to my mind.

I am now looking at other future techs that might have a bearing on TRT/Honeywell and it is easy to get into a funk over new developments or older technology already in position. I have to remind myself that there are lots of features that make for a very murky environment in which to see future winners and losers. At the end of this spiel I will give some links to future tech and where current tech sits. :)

I did not wish you to read them without considering the importance of durability, cost, simplicity, the use in real world as opposed to laboratory settings. Added to that must be the time to test a new technology - and if you wish to see if something will survive 10 years that is a lot of testing even if you only accelerate time at the end of the day potential users will want to know it really does last the distance.

I am not a scientist, engineer or anything else in the science world so the actual degree of threat I cannot judge but rely on Honeywell to know what they are about. It is possible given the £10 million the members of this forum have tied up in this company that we should consider paying for a "quick & dirty" professional opinion as to the future of the technology.

I am not concerned as to the immediate doubling, trebling etc of the price which I take as a given but the decison to be made as to whether this companies technology will lead to Honeywell truly going SAW based for most of its sensors in which case are we talking 10,20,50 times the 2008 anticipated price. You can take it that I am in favour of the idea : )

As to research:

you might them interesting but I would also add this snippet to my

I think you can tell that I am way out of my depth on sensors in general - if you know anyone in the line of business who could be persuaded to take an intelligent interest .......
