pb... Holmess sums it up well. But don't bother with UV filters to protect the lens, looking after them is much cheaper and will give better results. Whilst the new digitals have better definition than most 35mm film these days you'll find darker parts of a well exposed image will deteriate. With the D2 you can set Gamma curves and bracket exposures, so if frames are taken in succesion they can be combined in something like photoshop. The same goes for colourisation but you may still want to limit extremes ie street-lights or enhance b/w pictures, though Gamma curves either in the camera or on a pc will do a lot. Ultra wide angles often have their fringes obscured by any filter and the big telephotos use filters that slot into the back of the lens (expensive). Try some of the architectural wide angle lenses and make friends with a local pro/hire shop. Nikon service in Richmond were always very good value so don't be put-off by 2nd hand lenses. The best addition you'll make to your collection of expensive lenses, flashguns and remote setups will be a second camera, even if it's a good pocket digital!! -Best buy some more TRT to pay for it all. ;-)
