Well actually, Crystal, unless RJ is telling porkies, I am right – Mazda needed Torotrak patents to build their (half-toroidal) gearbox. They wouldn’t have done this if they didn’t have to, hence Torotrak patents are (in their opinion, not mine) vital for building a toroidal gearbox. Agreed it’s speculation as to whether they could circumvent them, but it’s not speculation that they would either have to or agree a deal with Torotrak. Or wait twenty years until they expire.

I'm sure you are right, but it does not fill me with confidence if the whole TRK bulletin board on ADVFN and Ample can only suggest I read all 400 patents, or wonder why I didn't leave my money in the very capable hands of "Eminem".
I think you are making fun a little of my scepticism, but the price is now about 1/5 of what it was when I started watching. If I were to buy at about 20p during tracker fund selling over the next few months, invested £10,000, and the shares ever reach £2, then my scepticism would have earned me £80,000 (compared with buying £10,000 @ £1 and having £20,000 in the future instead of £100,000).
I do not need to calculate oil pump losses for an Antonov transmission. Their 6-speed losses are in their Paris motorshow documentation and are moreorless (from memory):
Clutches 2.5%
Gears 5.5%
Oil-Pump 1% (45 litres per minute at 5 bar)
------------
Total losses 9%
Hence Efficiency ~ 91%
So where are the official Torotrak figures? Are these in the 400 patents I have to read as homework?
