From memory GM said that they did not wish to prodeed with a production licence, but they wished to maintain a close contact with the project developments. I believe that Toyota had some vibration issues which TRK felt could have been resolved had they been working in closer cooperation with the company instead of working on their own.
My understanding is that both GM and Toyota buy transmissions from Aisin who seem to be following up on their initial work.
