On down days like this I have to remind myself that somewhere out there are 60 very expensive engineers, who have been out there for quite some time. The only thing I can think they are doing is trouble shooting a production line or lines. I would be quite happy to see some kind of sub 1000cc city car or utility car be the first large scale adopter. After all most private buyers of modest means look for low running costs and reliability as a priority. I don`t see a noticeable drop off in the number of SUV things in the UK even though fuel is equivalent to $7 a UK gallon. Why would you have one if fuel costs were important to you? Lets see Asia and India flooded with little fuel sipping, maintenance free vehicles. History would indicate that America is unlikely to be a first adopter for road vehicles.
