Only two months so far (opened an account a few months prior to using it)
So far a small profit on two SB's . However have two big risers just today with lots more to come imo!
It's easy to lose all your stake on SB's which is why I held back so long before using my account. You MUST study the charts carefully and allow for the biggest down spikes during an unfavourable period imo. Then set an SL just below that level. I think too many get greedy.........even a modest 2X-3X leverage with no tax has to be an attractive proposition surely?
The thing with SB's vs shares is that whereas if the market takes a big knock (London bombings) then the sp's may dive and recover in minutes/hours.......with a SB, if the stop losses are triggered then that's it.........game over!
So my advice is to spread the risk between shares and SB's and don't ever be too greedy.
Also, because of the premium charged ontop of the offer price, I only choose stocks with a very big upside potential and little downside risk. When you discover such a stock it's easy to chose a spreadbet over just share ownership.
