Tropical Depression Quedan
In a related development, weather bureau PAGASA said in its 5 p.m. bulletin that Quedan has crossed northern Palawan and continued to move west northwest toward the South China Sea.
The weather bureau said as of 4 p.m., satellite and land-based data tracked the center of Quedan at 110 kilometers north northwest of Puerto Princesa City or 260 kilometers southwest of Coron, Palawan, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. It is moving west northwest at 15 kph.
PAGASA has lowered Public Storm Signal No. 1 in the provinces of Mindoro island, Lubang Island, Antique, Aklan and Cuyo Island.
Signal No. 1, however, remains over Pagasa Island, Palawan and the Calamian Group of Islands, the weather bureau said.
Residents in low-lying and coastal areas and near mountain slopes of the provinces with warning signal including Bicol region and Eastern Visayas were also alerted against flash floods and landslides.
Not sure on exact geography but have seen news on tropical storm in Palawan region.
