There is no point liquidating the company and sending shareholders cheques for £5-£250.
Why not?
The reason being that the majority of the retail/commercial investors have paid substantially more for each share(30p-£135).Small ammounts of £10 -£50 are neither here nor there
And amounts of £20-100 would be worthwhile? That's the sort of return you might get after 10 years with your idea of putting the cash into an investment fund. At least with a liquidation shareholders get what's left of their holding without having to pay a hefty 'stockbroker tax' in costs. It's still enough for a night down the pub.
