Sanuk,
I was referring to the 2 specific companies Abacus and Armourgroup re yield and very specific circumstances. At 5 to 6 % they become interesting but PE etc all play into it. I dont trawl for the yield, i just read bulletin boards and people suggest the shares as an opportunity and sometimes give the fundamentals. You should look at the value shares board on Motley Fool if you want ideas. I've looked back at the rns's and i cant even find any for abacus re major reductions in holdings but i know that was why i picked up on it especially. After it worked last year i was looking for other shares that seemed to be suffering badly due to a major shareholder exiting and armourgroup fitted the bill.
PS I could be totally wrong here and Fidelity are undoubtedly better informed than i am. They could be selling for reasons other than getting a bad performer off their books.
I know the yield is now well out of value territory but after abacus last year i'm inclined to sit on this for a bit longer. Famous last words!!
