Teather & Greenwood the then brokers of EKT in 2001 did a research note on EKT and the comparison made with Volex. At the time Volex was a far premium rating to EKT. Volex hit a high of about £25.00.
Volex has had a declining share price since. In fact this year alone Volex lost about 75%.
Volex is a electronic manufacturer and supplier. They had a fire at the mexico factory last year and are crippled with debt.
Another electronic distributor in trouble is Eurodis electron. Again the share price has collapsed and also crippled with debt.
The consequence of the above mean that EKT is at a far more competitive advantage. EKT does not have large interest costs due to its cash, and is therefore able to take more market share.
