You have to laugh, don't you! Fusebox says in post 2240 above, that EKT made well over £1 million in the first half EXCLUDING exceptionals. His words. Then in his very next post, no. 2241, he quotes from EKT's own RNS which says they only made £972,000 operating profit from continuing operations. He doesn't know whether he's coming or going! Anyway, back to the figures. You then deduct the other costs from operating profit, like interest charges, and you get back to the pre-tax £880,000 which I quoted in my previous post.
I'll admit to smiling broadly when I read fusebox's contradiction of my statement, and then in his very next post he quoted EKT's own RNS which exactly proved my point and disproved his own statement in his immediately preceding post! Call me sad if you like, but I haven't had such a good feeling in a long time!
Unfortunately, even in his post no. 2243, fusebox keeps going on about basic eps rather than underlying (or adjusted) eps. This is despite the comments on this subject in my previous post, which everyone else understands, but proves once and for all that fusebox actually and genuinely hasn't got a clue. That also explains why he cannot (or will not) provide direct answers to direct questions from other posters. Unfortunately, fusebox does not show any signs of learning from his mistakes, that repeating the same misinformation over and over again does not make it true. Misinformation is still misinformation, and that goes for whether it is a positive post here or a negative post on other threads. And that also goes for whether the posts are made in one name or the established and known multiple aliases used by fusebox.
2005 is nearly upon us. How about a New Year resolution fusebox (whichever name you post under)? Why not resolve to put your mistakes of 2004 behind you, and resolve not to trash other people's threads, not to try to deceive people by using multiple aliases, and to try to make constructive posts (because constructive can be both positive and negative - honest!). You may not understand how shares are valued (that is fairly obvious) but if you post responsibly and accept that others are allowed to have and express a different point of view from your own, you might actually find, as others have said above, that you might start earning a little bit of respect for making a contribution.
