the new director gets a mention in the ft today (20/12/05) in Mudlark, under headline Bryant reworks his past in Zambia. is too long for me to type out, but the gist is that john bryant had a hand in the chain of events that led to Luanshya being closed in the first place. he was a director of Copperbelt Energy, the privatised Zambian electricity supplier to the mine which, after wrangles over contracts, eventually cut off power which led to its abandonment earlier this year. he was introduced to wti, which knew he had experience in Zambia, but not quite how close to home...
