tp - I was referring to any individual instruments themselves going belly-up, probably as a consequece of destabilisation in the wider derivatives market. This seems to be a fear expressed by many. Mc B - As for the effect on miners, at one level the failure of the position could result in losses while on another level failure could reduce the financial status of the company =>> creditors and shareholders losing confidence.

I don't pretend to be an expert on this stuff, but I read quite a bit and take an interest.
