The No-Talent Portfolio

CockneyRebel - Sat, 17 Dec 05 :

Yes, AIM has distinctly underperformed but if rates have topped or are coming down then the highest beneficiaries are likely to be the small companies that are percieved to be rate sensitive imo.

Yep, I wouldn't rely on broker forecast either call-logger. The only reason I suggested 3 buy recs concensus is that it at least finds stocks with continuing positive expectations. Same goes for the suggst that you chose stocks that had fallen 30% in the previous year, it might equally be as good picking stocks that had risen 30% in the previous year as they might have the momentum. I suspect it would be a good experiment to set up 3 or 4 of these portfolios and see how you get on if you were to make a extended experiment of it.

Anyway - very interesting to see how it carries on. It might not outperform top stock-picking but even if it was 10% or so behind a good stockpick portfolio for the work saved and the time freed up that might be a cost worth paying for a saddoes like me that spends hours and hours searching and researching!
