THE GRINCH WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS
moregas - Mon, 30 Dec 02 :
shushh up Matthewa. Is it just me or do missed opportunities reall really really get under your fur? A lost profit is really like a *lost* profit. Grizzle grizzle grizzle.....LOL no pleasing some!
Went in to JD sports today (fancied a pair of chep trainers) not much hustle and bustle . About equal numbers of staff to customers.
Also went into JJB. Slightly more customers than staff. No idea about margins. JD seemed mainly clothes and the prices I noticed were in big letters (main sale crowdpullers I suppose) but tops for 6£? How much marging there. I admit thought that pretty much every pair of trainers I saw were made in Thailand or elsewhere. No proud Made in England anywhere. Lordy! I remember when Made in England was a selling point.
Anyway point being probably knocked out in sweatshops for £1 each and sole here to labelites for 10x the price 'cos its a Tacini innit. (yeah probably spelling is wrong on that too)
Can you believe they don't want you to try the display trainers on in JJB? Sounds like a good sales ploy but a bad time management call. Sure.more likely to close a sale if a sales bod is selling but I like to 'try' and would have feel a right wazzock asking for a pair of 7 and 8 in them, them, them, them, them, them, them them and tham. And them.
Finally got two pair from Asda for £6 and £10.
