THE GRINCH WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS

Sharona1 - Very good question.

I have a great deal of difficulty on answering that one myself...I, like you used to say I "play the market" etc...but that makes you sound like a twat!

So now, I say I'm a "day trader"...and that I bet on the short term fluctuations in share prices...Fortunately my "inlaws" are relatively clued up on the markets, so are very understanding of my "proffesional gambler" status..lol

But yes, the initial reaction is always "oh really...and who do you trade for..investment bank, stockbroker???"

..to which I answer" myself"...They then assume you're either loaded, or a reprobate gambler, both of which is far from the truth!!

I usually end up explaining that I'm serving a self taught aprenticeship in trading, and have done pretty well to make a profit this year..So far I've been betting small, but come the New Year I now feel confident enough to up my bet size significantly.
