THE GRINCH WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS

SHARONA1 - Thu, 26 Dec 02 :

Whilst it is quiet, a quick question. What do folk on here answer when asked what they do for a living. I remember years ago saying to a couple of folk that i played the market. That was when I used to mainly trade paper on a very small scale. What was strange is that most considered that if you traded shares that you must be incredibly wealthy, which is not the case.
I now prefer not to discuss it with anyone to avoid misunderstandings....Trying to explain going short to the in-laws would be profoundly difficult. How do others on here deal with this.Do not get the wrong idea...there is no shame attached. Indeed I am rather proud to have managed to remain solvent and profitable!(if not by much). I understand many traders do not last six months.

That is not to say there have not been dreadful days...the thing has been to learn (as cheaply) and quickly as possible. This and the day traders thread have been simply superb sources of knowledge and info...always learning and constantly adapting seems the best policy. Thanks to all that make the effort to post.
Regards
Sha.
