Eicom Plc announces that at its Annual General Meeting held today at 10:00 hrs,
all resolutions were duly passed.
At the AGM of the Company, John Sanderson, the Chairman, made the following
comments:
'I am pleased to report on the further good progress that Eicom has made since
the preliminary results announcement in September 2005.
'Advertising revenues achieved by Performance Channel, our UK arts and music
channel, have increased by 20% in the eleven months to 30 November 2005 compared
with the same period last year.
'The international distribution of the Company's digital TV channels remains on
course.
'Further to the announcement on 3rd September 2005, the Company confirms that
preparations for its trial transmission period on Dish TV in India for its
SciTech TV Channel are complete and it is awaiting a start date from Dish TV.
SciTech TV is dedicated to science and technology and now includes reports from
Research-TV, the partnership of British universities created by the University
of Warwick which provides regular news updates on cutting-edge research.
Performance Channel is also ready for its transmission trials on Dish TV.
'Terms have been agreed for the transmission of our Performance and SciTech TV
Channels on cable and satellite platforms in Belgium, Hungary, Slovenia, Latvia
and Pakistan and we have secured agreements with broadband platforms in
Portugal, Spain, Poland and the Middle East. However, the contract with BT for
broadband delivery of horror films has been allowed to lapse.
'Performance Channel is already broadcasting in several territories in Europe
including the UK, on Sky and Telewest, Germany on KBW and Net Cologne,
Netherlands on Casema and Essent and in Hungary on Optosat and Satimex.'
