The Faraj List of Explosive & Exploding Stock
labrat - Sun, 29 Dec 02 :
cheers, yes i do do all that, i think my main problem is that i cant really get into companies (in detail) that arent in my particular sector, i have been watching my own companies ups and downs and buying in and selling out on a regular basis, about 80% of the time ive made a moderate to reasonable gain, the other 20% ive either broken even or lost a little, but its been very reliable and ive only been dabbling small time, 1 or 3K here and there, im currenly on a losing streak with it, but hey, who isnt eh? anyway, i can wait till it makes good again.
Like I said, this is just something i do on the side, and if it all went belly up tomorrow, i wouldnt be that discouraged since i havent stuck a lot in.
As for the detail that id like to able to get to grips with, its basically about the companies themselves, used to be a time when a name was guaranteed to get good returns or at least not lose much, however, thats no longer so. Anyway, I reckon most of it is just down to luck at the end of the day, although a little research can at least help to justify to yourself that your losses are unforseen and uncontrollable, hell even the supposed experts seem to have made a complete balls of it over the last 1-1.5 years. All the tips ive seen from 'experts' turned out to be balls anyway.
Anyway, good luck and thanks for the replies.
