the breach of the 4000 level did not spell good fortunes for the ftse. short term the ftse is in a downtrend. at curent level, however, there is some support, not a significant one though. a bounce up from here may help a little but not much. personally, i do not think the picture is good. you have to be very careful about your long position. this is my own incling.
having said that, on one of the investment channels i heard very recently a speaker stating that short term the ftse will go up whil the long term view is down! i stick by my own view! good luck though and happy new year. may it be a better year for all investors.
