you have also provoked a lot of discussion, and that can also be very healthy... no worries on that score... ;-)
what you have said is very true - the first year is the hardest and its nice that you have ended the year acknowleging that mistakes are made and that you have learnt a lot - we all make mistakes, they do get fewer! I too learn more every year. The fact you want to trade longer term is just a different strategy. Nothing wrong with that. BP made alot of money on ASC as he has said earlier - that was one trade to which I understand he added... so its just developing a style and system and as you prob realise, excercising patience and discipline...
Just develop your own style... and you will do just fine...
