Happy New Year all, I read this thread from time to time but have not usually posted here before. As you all stock pick without the usual tiresome ramping my own penny share punt for 2004 would be afn. If anyone here went to the ADVFN Xmas do you will remember the "suggestion" offered by smellybogbrush?
On the major cap side I may be looking at tsco, emg, and stan
Tesco will benefit from Xmas (I think) and I hear tell online shopping may show good growth this year in the UK (take a look at www.tesco.com for example)
Emg (The Man Group) are the largest quoted Hedge Fund Managers in the world. They have a unique offering insomuch as investors can potentially benefit from strategies long and short. I see further growth in this business this year.
Standard Chartered is the bank best placed in the UK to gain from growth in Far East economies although a weaker dollar and potential SARS outbreaks need to be considered.
