Welcome to the 3rd leg of this stock exploration un-ending journey. The first leg commenced year 2002. The changes to the stock market and this thread have been considerable since then.
The start of year 2002 saw the grim stock market continuing its crushing downturn that had started with the tmt bubble burst in year 2000. At that time we had days when the NASDAQ lost over 200 points! Towards the end of the year 2002, however, the market began to take a turn for the better as the severity of the downturn lessened.
March 2003 saw the FTSE bottoming up at 3300; on 31.12.2003 it stood at 4477, representing a rise of 36%. During the year 2003 we highlighted stock that have gone up by as much as 7 folds or more and stock that rose some 122% intraday.
The traffic on this thread has grown enormously since the start days. The look and feel has changed a great deal too. We have colleagues who have taken on themselves the mantle of permanent members and contributors! This thread has become an exchange for thoughts and analysis of stock used by an ever increasing number of investors. It has developed a momentum of its own and became self-sustainable with an average of 1150 hits per day. It is an award wining thread with 2 bottles of Greystone's famed champaign under its belt.
As always, this thread remains not to be a stock tipping thread. We aim to highlight stock with potential for good growth using mostly, but not exclusively, Technical Analysis of stock techniques.
The outlook for market for the year 2004 is good. The macro forces that dominated the market place will subside and micro forces are expected to play an ever-increasing role. Stock picking techniques are therefore expected to play an ever increasing role during this year
