The ftse figures as stated are correct, but i must have pressed the wrong button. I have now corrected the rise to 16.7%.
on the tv someone made the rise 16%
sometimes it depends on what figures you take.
also bear in mind that if you had invested in the ftse then your gross profit would be nearer 20% due to dividends payments. one would be forgiven to think that the odd few percentages of divedend payments should not make that much of a difference. in reality, however, the compounded effect over a number of years would show a marked difference well beyond expectation!
