NGT....appears to have broke out of a 2month asc triangle(plus also has a yr long rising trend for support), however it is now approaching the £5 psychological barrier, which may prove to be to much resistance on this occasion. Nonetheless, the shareprice has consolidated in a 'mini' asc triangle over the last few days, so just maybe, building enough strength to push thro'.(definately one to watch closely.

LONDON (AFX) - National Grid Transco PLC posted pretax profit of 394 mln stg
for the six months to Sept 30, up 6 pct from last time and slightly ahead of
analysts' expectations, which had centred around 390 mln stg.
As expected, turnover from continuing activities was 3.8 bln stg, down 0.2
bln stg on the same period last year, mainly reflecting the weaker US
dollar/sterling exchange rate.

LONDON (AFX) - National Grid Transco PLC said the approval process relating
to the sale of four of its gas distribution networks, first announced on Aug 31,
will take longer than previously expected.
This is due to a detailed review by the company and regulator Ofgem, it
said.
However, NGT said it still expects the sales to be completed during the
second quarter of 2005. The company had previously said the transactions would
be finalised in April next year.
The four gas distribution businesses are being sold for 5.8 bln stg to four
different consortia, including Scottish & Southern Energy PLC and United
Utilities PLC.
Some 2.0 bln stg of the payment will be returned to shareholders, while a
further 2.3 bln stg will be used to pay down debt.
