Yes you can see DCD evolving more under the reins of DE, and today's news from the BBC regarding funding will no doubt help companies like DCD.
With the charter requiring BBC to deliver, and then the announcement on funding for the BBC showing less money than they expected, it was reported on the BBC this morning that this will inevitably result in more outsourcing to independents, and they said that almost desparingly, whilst I was rubbing my hands at the prospect.
Even the Report and Accounts looks a world away from the early designs, and the company I'm pleased to say, has at last the air of professionalism that it has needed for some time.
If the poker fiasco cost money, then you all know my opinion on how it came about, but as far as if we lost money....I no longer care, as if it has given more power to DE to run things, then it's worth every penny.
Would, however, like to hear more of the guy brought in to concentrate on TV entertainment and also still think they should bite the bullet on MusicSuite and sell it to the BBC for nominal sum plus small royalty per user, as the BBC has a requirement in its charter to provide such services, and it isn't doing much good to DCD and therefore selling it to BBC who would then distribute it free to schools would ensure massive takeup, IMHO the only way it will have a high takeup and where it really doesn't fit in the new DCD.
