i know what youre thinking, and i still wouldnt short it.
firstly, they have only 1907 employees.
with revenues of $2.16billion for the 9months upto the end of sept2004.
secondly, they have big big plans which i think they will pull off.
google browser to name but one. it's in their interests to make this work. if it doesn't, they're toast. you think google is going to be the default search engine in the next iteration of microsoft's explorer? not a chance with microsoft working on their own search engine.
automatically that'll be a big slice gone from their revenues as it will just be easier to use msft's search instead. as anyone who has used google toolbar or maxthon etc will know.
so they have to/must make gbrowser work, which i think they will, they're a smart bunch. also they can afford to do things that new competitors cant, just simply because of economies of scale.
