what stands out in comparison, the oil trends on FTSE still seem healthy and quite lagging looking at US counterparts.. Valuations are pretty much the same if I'm not mistaken (mg?).. I like the other big caps too, plenty of them, but something just isn't right if this low volatility persists..
Then looking at literature on VIX from experts and frequent writers, all the intepretations I could come across.. tiny break yesterday and today already funny.. hey sell while it is below 20 (too bullish), or expect imminent reversal and so on.. none of them obviously work, short, medium or any time scale. I know you're not finding it useful, I guess no one really is these days.. but low volatility lasting beyond January next year doesn't add up, here or in US.. and it goes with the view of VIX not breaking down much further from here.
Maybe it is because modelling any price action beforehand ends up with total chaos ;-)
