StewJames, yes, the MM's moved down in unison earlier in the week which suggests they got wind of a largish sale in the wings.
However I was discussing quotes for buying 100k/200k earlier this week with my broker - 100k was avail at 10.65p, 150k was 10.65p and 200k was 11p. Anything more required a premium over 11p. So at a guess they have something like 200k to 400k surplus on their books. A tip in national mag would easily absorb all of that so we'll find out the true situation over the next few days.
I also expect the situation to become clearer in the new year. You always tend to get some strange transactions at the end of a calendar year as institutions clear out some holdings and move into new ones. They tend to do this in Dec to book losses/profits before the end of their financial year.
