I had a mobile phone call onto my land line and it has to be about the worst echo on a localish call I have ever heard to the point that conversation is about impossible....it raises neatly the 2 points that home/office phones need noise cancellers and echo cancellers built in.....and of course the mobiles themselves need the same....I.e. there is a sales oportunity at both ends of the telco equipment pipeline....
the very fact that telcos are not investing to put the VQ s/ware & hardware into the infrastructure platforms should add to the urgency to get these features into new products and market them aggressively.....let's see whether our first telco customer can actually do this....
