TEO - Ready to go into Orbit!
Tradx666 - Tue, 28 Dec 04 :
Wes,
Keeping up with you, is almost a full time job!
You said.
“Benefits of SW18
1. Enhancement of additional languages:New languages Farsi, Urdu, Tagalog
2. Improved Acoustic Shock Protection:Improvements of acoustic shock protection from short and quite loud ring tones.”
Tradx , this is the first mobile phone I have found to date with ASP loaded in…..are you aware of any others in the globe yet?”
I expect to see many more as awareness and the issue of potential damage comes to the fore, most specifically in the World’s civil services i.e. fire, paramedics, police etc..whereby there is an almost total dependence on mobile communications name and where the old ‘I got a bad back from fighting a drunk syndrome (I know I’m a cynic) and ‘early retirement’ from all forces could be lead once again by ‘hearing damage’..and it is on the agenda (at least in Europe)!
As for how the mobile phone manufacturers operate in terms of incorporation of new technologies try a read of DATGroup.com as some background to one small segment of this market..but by and large I would say that I have seen overall improvements to performance regularly ‘bought in’ over the past 10-15 years.
I therefore see overall QOS/safety etc improvements as a half full market..some will lead and others will follow, all will be looking for commercial advantage and all will need to address these issues sooner rather than later, and imho they are, as for TEO being part of this process – why shouldn’t they be..integrated designers tend to map out asic inclusions i.e. design wins as long as 18-24 months before production with constant updates along the way, to this extent I see massive possibilities for TEO (assuming of course that their sale sand marcom teams are up to the job).
I also that the ‘mass market’ approach in that I am not look for huge percentage licensing deals as low as $2-5 dollar per ASIC would do for me, as it could still equate to a potential hundred millions of dollars, with net margins in the region of 50-75%..
It is worth remembering that ‘all’ TEO have to do is get the mask design via software tooling made for the asic, get a foundry to produce it either via cross licensing or on a sell-through deal and they are in the market-place, thereafter it is pretty much a promotion exercise into the global and pacific rim integrators..all in all perhaps no more than 10,000 target companies across the World, but representing Billions of dollars of purchasing power..
In short, Wes, whilst they still have it all to prove to us small shareholders, I have a belief that each step they have taken in the past 12 months is well-measured and heading in the right direction and it augurs well for a quantum-leap and break-out into niche, but comparatively ‘mass-markets’, and frankly I think Amir is a pretty shrewd cookie and I expect to see some large options with serious targets attached laid out to all staff sooner rather than later.
They have much to do, and many here will not have the patience to see them develop (and why should they?) I personally thnk that the 'break-through' could come at any time and a sudden leap ahead followed by a steady upward direction in the SP is not too much fantasy ....even if I do still believe in Father Christmas!!
My plan here is simple, just as it was with other AIM stocks that have paid off for me...I hold, they climb, and hopefully I minimise how much I pay the wonderful Mr.Brown....if that means that it takes another 12 months before lift off, I don't give a damn!!
LOL!
