We have attended the ASP conference during 27-28 of Nov in Glasgow for two reasons which I assume we all know about, firstly to use the opportunity to meet potential customers with C3 and independent of C3, let alone the publicity, and secondly to help the awareness campaign for Acoustic Shock injuries in the call centre industry. As you may know also we have participated in acoustic shock limiter manufactures device independent testing programme which is currently carried out by NPL and ASP jointly . Again this was announced by the ASP (please see their web-site for further information). The comparative result of this study will be announced in Jan 2007, and I am looking forward to seeing the report.



My observation of the conference was a good one and it was even better than the last year. I was pleased to see number of major contribution from the industry which endorses the existence of the problem. Two years ago people like Plantronics and many other governmental organisation were totally denying the existence of the 'Acoustic Shock' problem, whereas this time around it was quiet evident that they have changed their attitude, these included some influential bodies such as HSE, RNID, IOSH etc.



I am glad that you noted the EVOQ I was wearing!
