Merry Christmas all.
The evoq is comfortable for a few hours and only "hurts" after several hours use, as the professional reviewer also found.
Having now done some basic testing......
Evoq to Evoq,
Dongle to Evoq,
My Evoq, on other phones and versions of windows mobile,
other Evoqs on my phone,
I believe the issue relates to my phone and version of win mobile.
The phone is the latest HTC300, and tested on T mobile network; with windows mobile 5 OS 5.1.195 build 14955 2.3.0.
Once paired switching Evoq on and off can result in having to put the Evoq in discovery mode to get a connection, also, make sure the comms manager is shut down. If not, music breaks up and sounds like it's running at the wrong speed, slow! And the Evoq software fails to operate properly.
When the issue is solved the Evoq does exactly what it says on the Tin.
It is obviously an issue as it happens on other Evoqs too, with this phone and specific windows build.
However the problem is now known and I am sure with the right expertise can be easily rectified with either a windows patch or Evoq software tweak. Perhaps in the medium term this can be made available on the Qstik site? And an Evoq USB lead can be provided to the headset port for software upgrading? In the interim I suppose it's a return the Evoq to Qstik issue?
Am I pleased? You bet, I love my Evoq now it works! And what a battery life, brilliant!
