Just for richy LOL
Voice quality is adequate--for the most part. Some calls sounded decent, though I often noticed an echo in the background. Callers told me I was hard to hear. And, at times, I was completely unable to hear the caller--the call would simply drop out for a few seconds or more. Other times, I could hear callers, but they couldn't hear me.
While this spotty call quality might be acceptable in a free product, the Vonage V-Phone is not free. In addition the $40 you have to pay for the hardware kit, you also have to sign up for a service plan if you're not already a Vonage user. Plans range from $15 a month for 500 minutes to $25 a month for unlimited minutes.
The idea behind the Vonage V-Phone is a good one: a portable phone number that's easy to access. Unfortunately, its performance doesn't live up to that promise
