Talk and talk and more talk…but the story eked out gets worse bit by bit by bit…
1. On tc1000 sales success?
June 05 “We expect a SIGNIFICANT PERCENTAGE OF OUR CUSTOMERS to opt for TC-1000 in line with the requirements of the forthcoming legislation.”
Oct 05 Mark Lyon, Managing Director at C3, stated:"Our TC-1000 product has been received INCREDIBLY WELL in the marketplace”
Dec 05 “These products have been WELL received in the marketplace and in call centres across the UK and Europe ahead of the European Directive 2003/10/EC, which comes into force next April.”
So 6 months down the line from a “ground breaking” implementation and not 1 publicised user in the globe? Not one distributor in UK has tc1000 on their public website? Have we actually sold even 1 model of tc1000 to anyone? There is a huge difference between “this looks nice” and customers receiving us with compliments to signing a cheque?
2. On VOIP
On VOIP we still have no stated contract with a user and no sense of where this heading HB report stated voip for PCs in 2006 and now we have no deadlines whatsoever?
“Tecteon has already initiated its third Reference Design Platform (RDP-3) project for its telecommunication market. Further information about the RDP-3 will be released in due course.” In 2008?
3. On recruitment
Nov 05: “Tecteon will be recruiting a Sale Executive to lead the
commercial efforts of the company to fully exploit the identified market opportunities under Tecteon's existing business model.”
Dec 05:”We will be looking to expand the marketing team at Tecteon”
So no stated commitment to a senior sales exec? A junior telesales girl on 10k p.a.? When will we be looking to expand? In 2008?
4. On the future “Outlook In terms of orders won the year was slightly disappointing” right on!
IF you place any sort of priority on having a diversified client base then to my mind we are arguably worse off than a year ago as it more apparent than ever to me anyway that these big corporates who we were appearing to be chasing after a year ago in 2004 have gone elsewhere and appear entirely happy with their own dsp technology (as I said before). We are left with just C3. Until C3 are forthcoming that they are actually selling anything for us then we remain a long distant dream. I felt far more cheerful here a year ago. Still better spend some time thinking about Christmas!
And not even a mention of the mega deal for DOM!
C3 can entirely prove me wrong of course. Clock is ticking as the rivals march on...
This is a risk indeed fireball but where is the reward coming from?
