Can I just ask you experts ?

If you trade online and your broker is quoting a bid price on a stock via his website, does that broker have to honour that bid price.

I ask this because I tried to sell a stock recently and the broker was quoting the same bid price for 30 minutes and wouldn't honour it.

He told me that the the dealers weren't interested in me selling at that bid price.

THE BID PRICE THEY WERE QUOTING ME WAS ON THEIR FRIGGING WEBSITE !!!

Somebody told me that these brokers do anything to prevent you making money and they are a bunch of conmen.

Are they regulated or answerable ? FSA perhaps ?
