further for ntls appeal;
Pub operators across the country have accused British Sky Broadcasting of exploiting its position in the pay-TV sector, as subscription prices of it's Premiership football packages have risen drastically through the years.
One pub operator labelled the annual increases as 'extortionate', as large pub operators now have to pay £1,350, compared to just £4 when the service started in the early nineties.
Complaints by operators led to the Office of Fair Trading launching a formal investigation, but this was abandoned in August due to insufficient evidence.
Pub operators claim the Office of Fair Trading closed the investigation because they were led to believe that the situation would be resolved sooner if the case were dropped.
Some of the largest pub operators, such as Six Continents, have since decided to scrap their subscriptions to BSkyB in most of their outlets.
