I hold a few of these as a long term hold - Horseracing - betting or land close to high value residental areas will not be going out of fashion over any period of time albeit not the same for the shares ..... very cheap at this time.

Arena Leisure, the racecourse and media group, soared 77 per cent in the early part of the year only to return to a more mediocre performance later in the year. Overall it has fallen 24 per cent, marginally out-performing the main indices and in line with the media sector.

The current price (28p) does not reflect the true value either of its racecourse division or its stake in At the Races. The racing channel is now showing on Sky and taking interactive bets. With radical reform of the racing industry - to the benefit of course owners - due soon, Arena is also a buy.
