Back to my day "in the field"

Today: Had very little work today and only had six customers to see. Only mentioned the service to two of those customers, one signed up on the spot, the other asked for "a leaflet about it", and will look at the service and "call me back".

I have probably given brochures and leaflets out to over 75 people so far and have yet to actually get one call back! The moral to that story is that if they dont sign on the day then you can probably forget it! Last week I left a brochure with a customer and knowing I was in the area two days later said I would leave it with them and collect it in a couple of days. Collected brochure, but no sale. You cannot force people to save money can you!

I think that that is the way to go though, just make an appointment to see them in a few days. For me though the trouble is I never know where I am going to be from one day to the next.

I still have some bugs to iron out in my approach to poeple though, as stated above I only mentioned it to two out of six customers seen today, why?....

First customer seemed like a likely candidate, but the house stunk and I didnt fancy hanging around for fear of catching something.

Second customer was the mother of the homeowner, so little point in pitching her...

Third took the brochure.

Forth signed up. :)

Fifth, too many people in the house and too many kids running around to demonstrate the services.

Sixth, not sure why I didnt ask, think I had it in my head that I was on my way home soon and did not want to delay myself.

So, what can I say about the above? Rather than making sales I made excusess! A habit I know I have, and one I will be trying hard to break!(A new year resolution perhaps? :))

What lies ahead tomorrow?
