Downend - I think that's what a lot of us have assumed. Azure Dynamics issued a statement emphasising their future focus on hybrid powertrains, and that all other activities would be curtailed - giving the distinct impression that the unmentioned all-electric business they were doing with Tanfield would be one of the areas to be sacrificed. Whether that was AD's own decision, or one forced on them by Ford, is anyone's guess. But it isn't long since Tanfield and Azure signed a three-year exclusive deal (July 2005, added to in May 2006)... and I've not seen any explanation from Tanfield as to whether that deal will be fulfilled (and merely not renewed thereafter), or terminated. And if terminated, what compensation payment might be involved.
