Please don't laugh....A few days back there was a Times article on Polar Bears. Even the US administration has had to admit that they are becoming an endangered species and that Man's activities might have something to do with the retreat of the Arctic ice. If the US Administration formally declares the bears as an endangered species, US law will require all US industries to take action to avoid putting them (the bears) under further threat......by cutting emissions. The consultation period will be concluded by the end of March.

What a fabulously subtle u-turn that would be!
