Can you imagine that the house broker would revise their own estimates *before* the company they serve had made the required announcements?
If the estimates don't include what they believe to be an accurate statement of the company's prospects for the next year, then they are meaningless, pointless and worthless. Now, it seems to me, that brokers seem to be generally clueless in this respect, punting one figure until the results and then a totally different figure afterwards - so the figures may well be meaningless - what on earth the point of releasing "estimates" that don't actually estimate, I have no idea.
FWIW, I agree with you about what drives the price - if they can gain huge revenues from somewhere then past valuations / broker estimates are irrelevant.
