Tadpole has signed a company-making deal with a US technology giant. The company, whose sales top $20bn, will market Tadpole's AppExpress software to companies around the world. AppExpress streams software to PCs from a central server. People can use it, but are not allowed to copy it. Microsoft is a big supporter because this system prevents piracy. The software is also being used by Autocad and others for streaming trial versions of software. This is cheaper than sending a CD and again stops piracy. Tadpole lost £700,000 underlying in the September second half. Its Cartesia division made £1m and is growing fast. Repeated share issues have forced down its price to 9.5p. But in early January, it is expected to receive a £2 million upfront royalty, ending this worry.
