It's intriguing how Gameloft is valued at about £280m equivalent when it made £1.35m equivalent pre-tax profit in 2004, on £16m equivalent sales. I reckon that is roughly feasible for Superscape in 2006, so it's 'two years behind' but I credit it's now the leader in 3D and this market is shifting to 3D.
The big risk is whether these valuations (including Electronic Arts' £400m acquisition of JAMDAT) over-rate the longer-term financials of the mobile gaming market, although at about £25m (minus balance sheet cash) Superscape hardly looks stretched by comparison.
I have no idea as to KR's objective, in terms of selling the business, but I get the impression he's focused on driving growth!
