Appointment of Nomura International as Nominated Adviser and Broker
Award of Barclaycard Merchant status
Gaming Insight Plc ("Gaming Insight" or the "Company"), the interactive
gambling products and digital media rights business, today announced the
granting of Barclaycard Merchant status and the appointment of Nomura
International plc as Nominated Adviser and Broker.
Nominated Adviser and Broker
As part of the next stage of the Company's development, Nomura International
plc will become the Company's sole Nominated Adviser and Broker with effect
from 1 January 2002.
Barclaycard Merchant status
The granting of Barclaycard Merchant status allows bets to be placed via all
major credit and debit cards and in multiple currencies, rather than just in
US dollars. This enhancement to the Company's capabilities will lead to
considerable savings on all gaming payment processing costs and deliver
improved margins. It also has the potential to expand the Company's customer
base significantly.
The granting of full merchant status will assist fraud prevention and create
operational efficiencies leading to margin improvement, as well as readily
allowing a significantly larger potential customer base to use the Company's
on-line gaming products.
Other developments
New Zap Casino partnership agreements
Zap Casino has recently signed partnership agreements with:
- VinnieJones.co.uk, the web site of Vinnie Jones, one of the UK's
highest profile stars and promoter of gobarkingmad, Gaming Insight's
greyhound racing business
- 50Connect.co.uk, a website specifically targeted at people over
fifty in the UK, an economic group well suited to online gaming
- GolfCourses.org, a UK golf courses directory and golf related
merchandise website
Zap Casino now has 11 partners and continues to build its portfolio of branded
partner web sites.
Racing-Network.co.uk generating further revenues
Racing-Network.co.uk, Gaming Insight's horse racing betting advice service
partnership with Victor Chandler International the fixed odds bookmaker, is
now fully functional and is already generating betting revenues. These
revenues are in addition to monthly subscriptions to the members' enclosure,
Racing-Network's premium advice service.
Commenting on the granting of full Barclaycard merchant status, David
Sanderson, Chief Executive said:
