Bulls Christmas Carol
I Believed in Scotty
(Sung to the tune of Greg Lake's I believe in Father Christmas)
They said there’d be an order by Christmas,
They said there’d be profits next year,
But instead it just kept on failing,
A voice of fear for the shareholders to hear.
I remember one Christmas morning,
The Winter's light and things looked dire,
And the peal a plum and that helicopter hum,
And eyes full of share certificates on fire.
They sold me a dream of Scotty,
They sold me many coded emails,
They told me a fairy story,
'Til they believed in Hurricane.'s tales
And I believed in Captain Kurt,
And I looked to goldengoose with excited eyes,
Then I woke with a yawn in the light of a 'false dawn',
And the helicopter order failed to materialise.
Porky, I wish you a hopeful Scotty,
I wish you a brave New Year,
All anguish, pain and sadness,
Leave your heart and the ship for Derham to steer .
They said there'd be an order with Scotty
They said there'd be profits next year,
Hallelujah! Noel, be it Telehealth or Heli,
The Scotty we get, we deserve.
